Which way should a forearm design face? On the inner forearm, script usually reads toward you, so the words make sense when you turn your palm up. On the outer side, the same line faces everyone else. Decide that first, before you scroll. It narrows down this range of temporary forearm tattoos faster than any filter.
Script, fine line and big blackwork
The forearm is long, fairly flat and easy to show, which is why it suits designs that run lengthwise. Here you'll find lettering and short phrases set vertically, single words in a thin hand, fine line botanicals and celestial pieces, mid-size animals and compasses, and large blackwork panels that cover most of the space between wrist and elbow, half-sleeve style.
Size is where most people hesitate. Measure from the crease of your wrist to the inside of your elbow before you pick a panel: a half-sleeve piece needs nearly all of that stretch, while a mid-size design sits well on the upper half, just below the elbow. A panel that's too short for your arm leaves an awkward gap at both ends. With script, width matters more than length: keep the line narrow so it stays readable when your arm rotates.
How long they stay on
Good news: temporary forearm tattoos get one of the longest runs on the body, because this spot sees far less rubbing and washing than your hands. Count on one to two weeks, depending on your skin and on how often a sleeve rubs the spot. Right after you apply one, the design looks pale. The jagua ink then darkens to blue-black over 24 to 48 hours. Keep it away from water and friction for the first 8 hours. Our guide on how long temporary tattoos last explains what shortens or stretches that window.

If the words matter most, quote tattoos and our list of tattoo quote ideas are the place to start. None of our temporary forearm tattoos says exactly what you mean? A line or a date of your own can be printed as a custom tattoo, with a minimum of 3 copies.
