Find your kind of heart

Size it to the spot

Small hearts look sharpest where the skin stays fairly flat: wrist, ankle, collarbone, the side of a finger. Bigger, more detailed pieces, like a winged old school heart, want the forearm, upper arm or shoulder blade. Those zones also hold the color longest, up to 2 weeks; on fingers and hands it fades sooner, since they get washed and rubbed all day.

Putting one on takes 2 minutes max. Right after, the design looks pale, almost see-through; over the next 24 to 48 hours it darkens to blue-black.
